Every year the World Sight Day is celebrated the world over with the aim of creating awareness in the laity about the importance of eye care for a lifetime of good eye sight. This year the theme was “Children Love your Eyes.”

Keeping this in mind we organized a free eye check-up camp at out hospital this morning for children up to 16 years of age who had eye related problems. We had the privilege of examining and treating 13 children free of charge who had attended the camp for allergy, stye and defective vision requiring eyeglasses.

We also distributed educational pamphlets on care of the eyes to the children and on glaucoma to the parents. Sharing a picture below of Dr Devanshi Desai examining a child who had attended the camp today. I am also glad to share a poster on tips for caring for children’s eyes.
