On a Desolate Desert Highway

Snuggled within the bleak, arid, and desolate expanse of the countryside, 82 kilometers northwest of Jodhpur, lies the humble hamlet of Hanuwant Nagar. On March 11, 2025, this remote village became the center of hope and healing as we organized a free eye camp that touched countless lives. During this transformative endeavor, we examined and treated 227 patients on-site, addressing an array of ailments with compassion and care. Free medicines were provided to alleviate their suffering, and 34 eyeglasses were dispensed, bringing clarity to those struggling with visual impairment. In a heartening continuation of our mission, 28 patients in need of cataract surgery were identified. They were carefully transported to our base hospital in Jodhpur, where they underwent free cataract surgery with artificial lens implantation—offering them the gift of restored vision and renewed possibilities. The accompanying photographs beautifully encapsulate the spirit and impact of this incredible undertaking, a testament to the power of empathy and dedication in transforming lives.
