The serene village of Utambar, home to 2,500 residents, nestles 44 kilometers west of the bustling city of Jodhpur in the Baleser Tehsil. On the auspicious day of March 28, 2025, our hospital extended its mission of compassion and care to this underprivileged community by hosting a free eye camp. This endeavor brought the invaluable gift of clear vision to the lives of many, serving as a beacon of hope and healing for the village.

Helmed by the remarkable efforts of Dr. Vatika Jain and Dr. Joseph Keenan, the camp unfolded with a meticulous screening clinic that catered to 130 individuals. Each case was approached with empathy and precision, leaving no stone unturned to address the visual impairments plaguing the community. Among these, thirty-nine patients with compromised eyesight were fitted with eyeglasses tailored to their needs, granting them the ability to perceive the world with newfound clarity.

For 16 individuals with cataract, a more transformative intervention awaited – these patients were transported via bus to our base hospital, where they underwent free cataract surgeries with artificial lens implantation. This advanced procedure symbolized not just medical excellence but also our unwavering commitment to restoring dignity and independence to those whose vision had faded.

This eye camp stands as a testament to our hospital’s dedication to bridging the gap in accessible healthcare and uplifting underserved communities. It embodies our steadfast resolve to enhance lives by bringing light—both metaphorically and literally—to those in need.
