Bhagat Ki Kothi

Gratitude Mrs. Sarita Bhargava

The final eye camp of the month unfolded at a serene Ashram in Bhagat ki Kothi, on the outskirts of Jodhpur. As we arrived that morning, the road buzzed with anticipation – a tent had been pitched right on the roadside, and patients were already gathering. Our gracious host, Jagdish ji, welcomed us with folded hands and heartfelt warmth. Over the course of the day, we examined 145 outpatients, dispensing free medicines and care.

Seventy individuals received reading glasses, their joy palpable as they rediscovered the pleasure of reading and viewing images. Eight patients, diagnosed with cataracts, were transported to our base hospital for same-day surgery. Each was operated free of charge, with artificial lens implants provided at no cost. The camp was a testament to community spirit and compassionate care – restoring sight, dignity, and hope.

The gift of sight was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mrs. Sarita Bhargava, whose compassion and commitment catalyzed a profound transformation in the lives of cataract-blind patients. Her support enabled free surgeries that restored vision, dignity, and hope to those who had long lived in darkness. We extend our deepest gratitude to her for being a beacon of light in their journey toward healing.

Gentle reader all of you have supported us from time to time and it helps us reach those most in need. Let’s keep sight within reach for all.

With agriculture waning, a new wave of small-scale manufacturing is emerging, fueled by the undiminished spirit of its people.

On 7 July 2025, our nonprofit team joined hands with local leader Mr. Daga, who spearheaded publicity and arranged transport. We treated 401 patients and selected 26 individuals for free cataract surgery. These patients were transported to our base hospital in Jodhpur and successfully operated – restoring sight and dignity. We had the privilege to operate on martyr Setha Ram’s uncle who is pictured in image 3.

This initiative not only honored a martyr’s memory but also advanced our mission to reduce avoidable blindness in the underserved communities of the Thar Desert.
