A Memorable Evening with Dr. Arif Mohammad Khan

On May 25, 2025 I had the profound honor of being a guest of honor at the first anniversary celebrations of the Al Abbas Education Society, an institution dedicated to fostering learning and social harmony. The occasion was made even more special by the presence of the Honorable Dr. Arif Mohammad Khan, Governor of Bihar, who graced the event as the chief guest. Sharing the stage with such an eminent scholar and statesman was a singular honour and truly an unforgettable experience – one I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams.

The event was a remarkable testament to unity and inclusivity. It commenced with an Islamic prayer, followed by a Hindu priest’s recitation, symbolizing the spirit of communal harmony that the society strives to uphold. Dr. Khan delivered an inspiring speech on the transformative power of education in bridging societal divides and fostering mutual respect and understanding. His words resonated deeply, offering both wisdom and a roadmap for a more cohesive society.

In my brief address, I emphasized the importance of eye health and urged the lay public to take proactive steps to prevent avoidable blindness. As someone closely involved in the eye care initiatives of the Al Abbas Education Society, I have witnessed firsthand how vision can transform lives. It was a privilege to contribute to the discourse on well-being and societal harmony alongside such distinguished personalities.
