Children’s Free Eye Camp Report

arabai Eye Hospital hosted a dedicated eye camp for children on 24 June 2025, welcoming 11 pre-registered patients ranging from 6 months to 18 years, including five girls. Each child received a comprehensive eye examination from our team.

Nine children were diagnosed with refractive errors, presenting visual acuities between 6/9 and 6/18. They were prescribed corrective eyeglasses to restore clear vision – an essential intervention, as uncorrected refractive errors contribute to nearly 20% of avoidable blindness in India.

Five children also exhibited muscle fatigue and eye strain and were advised to begin pencil push-up exercises at home to strengthen ocular muscles and reduce symptoms. One child, just 6 months old, was diagnosed with bilateral congenital cataracts. His sight-saving surgery is scheduled for the coming week. Another child, a six-year-old girl with divergent squint, has been booked for corrective squint surgery.

This pediatric camp represents a vital step forward in protecting the eyesight of vulnerable children – and echoes our commitment to early diagnosis, timely treatment, and lifelong clarity.
