On a Sultry July Morning

Summer in North India brings with it a notable lull in elective eye surgeries—an odd seasonal rhythm with no clinical explanation except the overwhelming heat and widespread lethargy. Yet at Tarabai Eye Hospital, our commitment never wilts. Defying the midsummer slump, we kicked off July’s outreach calendar with a free eye camp at the Udaimandir Government Dispensary on 4 July 2025. Ophthalmic Assistant Mr. Wasim Akram, along with our dedicated field team, transformed the clinic into a makeshift eye care hub, welcoming 17 patients with various ocular ailments.

Of these, two patients were diagnosed with operable cataracts and were promptly admitted for surgery the same evening – restoring their vision without delay. Even in the face of oppressive heat, our resolve remains firm: to offer affordable and accessible eye care to all who need it. This camp reflects that spirit—a small but powerful intervention where compassion meets precision. Enjoy the accompanying photos of this camp.
