Despite the blistering summer heat, with temperatures soaring to 43°C, our commitment to accessible eye care remains unwavering. Seasonal shifts in northern India greatly influence healthcare-seeking behavior, with summer often marking a decline in patient visits. Yet, on April 20, 2025, our dedicated team conducted its monthly eye clinic at the Government Dispensary in Ratanada.

Optometrists Anjesh Srivastava and Wasim Akram diligently examined 27 patients, identifying seven individuals with mature cataracts in urgent need of surgery. Since April 20 fell on a Sunday, procedures were promptly scheduled for the following day. With unwavering dedication to service, both the surgery and the implantation of artificial lenses were provided entirely free of charge.

We are proud to share glimpses of this clinic, showcasing our efforts to alleviate the burden of blindness in the Thar Desert region of Rajasthan—one patient at a time.
